Faith for more problems and difficulty has become a dangerous trend.
Learning that we have what we say should not be followed by how bad things are going to get!
Take some of these for example:
“Look out for more problems because you’ve learned this.”
“The enemy is after you because you are a greater threat.”
“New level, new devil.”
“Faith doesn’t mean you won’t have problems.”
Now let’s contrast these faith (or rather anti-faith) statements for more trouble with what the Bible says we speak:
6 But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ down from above)
7 or, “ ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).
8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach):
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”
12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him.
13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written:
“How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace,
Who bring glad tidings of good things!”
Salvation and no shame follow our faith; not devils, problems and difficulty. We preach the gospel of peace and good tidings; not toil, toil, pain and trouble.
Are we preachers or witches? Witches are known for curses. Ministers need to be known for speaking blessings that stop troubles.
Our shield of faith quenches all the fiery darts of the enemy. It shouldn’t be generating them!
Problems are solved, rather than increase. Difficulties are made smooth and easy wherever we go. Pain and suffering are healed and blessing floods in abundance.
Take time to train yourself in letting the blessing follow your faith. The choice is yours!
Building people up isn't about making them feel like broken junk. It's about showing them their richness and completeness in Christ.
If I constantly paint them pictures of chaos and destruction, then we shouldn't be surprised when that is produced in their lives.
The blessing of God produces blessed people! When we paint over and over that by God's free gift of Christ, everyone can be loving, strong and wise in the earth. Guess what is produced - loving, strong and wise people!
We have much work to do to build people up when they have been beat down for so long.
Keep painting the blessing and not the curse!
Matthew 8:25-27 TLV
25 So they came and woke Him up, saying, “Master, save us! We’re perishing!”
26 He said to them, “Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?” Then He got up and rebuked the winds and the sea, and it became totally calm.
27 The men were amazed, saying, “What kind of person is this? Even the winds and the sea obey Him!”
Jesus woke up and calmed the storm. It is time for those like Him (like Christ, Christian) to do the same thing.
John 14:12 NKJV
12 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.
Wake up Storm Calmers, get up and rebuke the winds! If Jesus wanted to stay and personally do all the storm calming that needed doing, He would have stayed here on earth. Instead He went to the Father to be prayer support for you doing it.
Revelation 19:16 (NKJV) And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
Many struggle with Jesus as King of Kings. When the King says to reign, disobedience says no Jesus, “I won’t reign. You are king and I am not.” Our passion for His position can take on an odd form of disobedience and actually violate His instructions. Get passionate for doing what He says to do! When He says reign, let Him show you how and just do it! Reign!
Romans 5:17 (KJV)For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
How do we reign like Jesus?
Luke 6:40 (AMP)
A student is not superior to his teacher; but everyone, after he has been completely trained, will be like his teacher.
Model Christ’s ministry. Do it like He did it.
Luke 4:18 (KJV)The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
Jesus is saying “Look at my life. Look at how I did it and you do it too. Disciple like I discipled. Train teachers like I trained them. I wasn’t there to be their boss. I was there to be their example.”
And you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power. Colossians 2:10
How do we see our audience? Are they in need of deliverance? Let's say that they are, and we are going to minister a message to help them. Let's also say that we minister many months along these lines. If our messages are truly helping deliver them, then at some point our message should advance to talking to men and women who are delivered and walking in victory. How can they see the victory if we keep talking to them like they need deliverance?
What if we helped our audience see themselves victorious from day one? Instead of struggling to get victory, what if we showed them that they are already victorious in Christ? Ah, now we are on the fast track!
Now, we can begin to encourage them as we would encourage Jesus. Encourage Jesus? That sounds crazy! No really, what if we saw Christians as literally "like Christ" as the name implies? Jesus didn't need delivered from anything. What if we encouraged people that they are complete in Christ like The Good Book says in Colossians 2:10? Jesus took away whatever you need delivered from and gave you His life that never needed delivered from anything. How do we see our audience?
All healing, miracle & prosperity ministry attracts interest - so the question then becomes what are we teaching when they come? What are they going to hear? Now that we've finally attracted some interest, what kind of things will we tell them?
Be healed. Be whole. Have a miracle. Give a miracle. Be prosperous. <---- All great starts!
Now we've got to say something else, right? What am I going to say? Is it time to go back to encouraging them to live right? The Bible does say that the ministry of condemnation has some glory. True, but then I remember that it also said that the ministry of righteousness has much more glory.
Great, so I'll use the word righteousness to tell them to live right? No, wait, that sounds just like the ministry of condemnation. Oh yeah... the ministry of righteous is them receiving a free gift of God by accepting Jesus Christ... confessing Him as Lord believing in their hearts God raised Him from the dead. Hey, I could actually teach them to rule and reign over people's problems (not people) by the abundance of grace and that free gift of righteousness. Now I'm cooking!
Preaching and teaching to the multitudes interested in what we have to say is very important. Our culture has been raised on decades of preaching and teaching, many times without healing and miracles. What we don't want - is to get the healing and miracles part down and then go back to teaching the core of traditional religion.
Traditional religion wraps itself around unGodlike descriptors such as: desperate, broken, unworthy and nothing. We treat people as lowly dependents who need, need, need God to reign over them.
"Submitting to God" isn't necessary a bad idea. But if I just say the phrase without actually doing what He asks, then I go back to creating more generations of traditional religion. What if submitting to Him requires me to reign like Christ on the Earth? Uh oh! I think that may be a curse phrase to popular religion. After all they did try to stone Jesus for daring to rise up as actual divine Family of God.
Some tips for upgrading your engine behind healing and miracles:
What are some ways you can think of upgrading your engine?
John 10:32-33 Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me? The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
We must help Sons and Daughters of God not persecute other Sons and Daughters of God. When one of them dares rise up with Christ-like ministry, other children of God start throwing rocks! Ouch!
Ministers: this must not be! Have we not raised them better? We must help our flocks see that there is nothing wrong with being a full fledged adult Child of the King, in action ministering to the world around us.
Full of the same Holy Spirit about our Father's business... will they not be instant targets just like Christ was? Let us protect and encourage them at every corner. Help them by instructing others to pick up love and kindness, but never rocks.
Let us pray for our Heavenly Father raise up more Christ-like laborers. Let us pray for the laborers to see themselves in even more of the glorious fullness of Christ.
Let us reduce the kind of persecution Christ suffered. It's okay to be Christ-like.
Meditation: 1 John 4:17 ...As He is, so are We in this world.
Ephesians 4:11-12 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
As ministers we must be sensitive in our spirit to our role in the work of the ministry. What has God called you to do? What has the Spirit of God spoken to you when you were not even trying to think about it?
Don't try to be anything except what He has spoken to you. As your life progresses be quick to obey the voice of God within you. This is of extra importance in the area of taking roles within the Church.
Has God called you to teach? Then be a teacher. Preach? Then be a preacher. Pastor? Evangelist? Then by all means be one.
Too many times men have gotten a general idea to preach and then forced themselves into the most ego gratifying role available. Most of the time Pastor is an easy pick. A few more take it a step further and say well Apostles appoint Pastors so I'm going to be known as Apostle Bob.
There is nothing wrong with God calling you to be a Pastor or an Apostle. But let God do the picking and have enough inner strength to not assume anything one way or the other.
Do you have the humility to appoint the full responsibilities of Pastor to someone else if God leads you that direction? When my wife and I were started Faith in Action Ministries, I never felt a specific call to be Pastor of the organization. She did so I had to let go of the natural tenancy to appoint myself as Lead Pastor. I stepped out of the way and let God give that to her.
It takes a bigger person to give power than to take it. Believe me! You will have to remind yourself of this because it is not comfortable to do the unconventional thing. Great is your reward when you do exactly what God has spoken to your heart.
Meditation: Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. Luke 6:38
Doesn't that apply to the tithe? Yes, and even harder than giving of our money and time... sometimes the more difficult thing to give is position.
Matthew 9:29 Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.
Ministers ask yourself the question - what is their faith in? Are they like the Centurion and will receive a miracle by you speaking to their situation from afar? Do they need to touch something - like the woman with the issue of blood who pressed through the crowd to touch His garment?
Your faith is in being like the Master. Your faith is in knowing what they have faith in like Jesus did. You have the Holy Spirit inside you, so ask Him how to connect with what they have faith in.
If they need a touch, then get that touch to them. If they believe in healing clothes, then get them a cloth. If they can hear the Word and be healed without any physical contact, then speak the Word to them.
Never make fun of the method that they require. Faith is a precious thing. The worst situation is always where they have decided that nothing can help them. Being blocked from helping them all together is not a good feeling. The method that they have chosen is what we will give them if at all possible.
Be creative with meeting them where their faith is at. Be Christ-like.
Meditation: What will you like that I do for you? As your faith is so be it unto you.
See yourself saying what the Master said.
Matthew 14:14 And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.
Ministering like the Master is compassion. People will suffer needlessly for years if no one has the compassion to be moved toward them to command healing.
When nothing will stop you from reaching out to that next one who your heart goes out to, then the miracles will never stop! Where love flows, you go, healing flows!
Jesus said that whatsoever you ask the Father in His name, would be done. Compassion is what moves you to ask or some translations say "command." When you are moved with compassion you command "be whole in Jesus name" and they are!
The Word will not return unto you void, but will accomplish that which you send it to do. Want to see more miracles in your community? Then command more healing to individual after individual.
Compassion is what gets you off the couch. It grows your church. IT MOVES YOU into action; the action of Christ!
Meditation: The love of God is shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Spirit. I am moved with compassion and all are healed by the power of God.
Romans 5:17 For if by one man's offense death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.
Reigning in life like Jesus means reigning over problems for other people. Jesus healed the sick, blessed businesses, comforted the hurting, restored the broken and even raised the dead. How do you think Jesus expects us to reign?
Many times people hear the word "reign" and they think of the conventional type of reigning - bossing people around, telling them what to do. Jesus introduced a very new kind of reigning (never before seen demonstrated), REIGNING THROUGH COMPASSION. He was moved with compassion and healed them all. He never showed an interest in controlling those around Him like they expected Him to; like many still expect Him to do today. He actually likes the title "King of Kings" which means that He is calling you and I to the same type of reigning that He demonstrated.
So are you up for it? Are we willing to lay down our quest for power and use the unlimited power fully granted to us to serve our communities with miracle after miracle?
Meditation: The love of God is shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Spirit. I am moved with compassion to heal my community.
John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
The same Holy Spirit who empowered Jesus' ministry wants to empower your ministry.
Acts 19:2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
After you are born again, you are welcome to invite the Holy Spirit inside of you.
Luke 11:13 ...how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?
Is it really that easy? Yes, it is. Once you ask, you do not need to ask again. Rest assured He is inside of you.
Did you ask? "YES" you say. Great! You are now born again and filled with the Holy Spirit! Congratulations you are fully qualified for Master Ministry!
Future blog posts will simply be you going into action with these qualifications as settled, bold, beautiful reality in your life to affect blessing in the lives of others.
You are now a child of God, full of the Holy Spirit! You are in partnership with Him.
John 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
This lesson is two-fold. The first should go without saying. But just in case... if you want to minister like Jesus, you must be BORN AGAIN. It's not about using the name of Jesus to go ghost hunting for a reality TV show or a little personal recreation and entertainment - which are all VERY DANGEROUS as these guys below found out:
Acts 19:13-16 A group of Jews was traveling from town to town casting out evil spirits. They tried to use the name of the Lord Jesus in their incantation, saying, “I command you in the name of Jesus, whom Paul preaches, to come out!” Seven sons of Sceva, a leading priest, were doing this. But one time when they tried it, the evil spirit replied, “I know Jesus, and I know Paul, but who are you?” Then the man with the evil spirit leaped on them, overpowered them, and attacked them with such violence that they fled from the house, naked and battered.
I want you to get saved, yourself, first and foremost. It's a lot safer that way. SECONDLY I want you to catch the simplicity in leading others to Christ. Ministers must never over-complicate it! Adding more to it can add years of uncertainty, causing people to doubt their salvation which distracts them from real Christlike ministry. Worse yet, they may develop a strong negative reaction to the simplicity of the gospel and even become the next generation of religious persecutors.
Below is page right out of my book "Healed, Healthy and Whole in Jesus' Name." It works great for anyone including ministers to become born again.
Romans 10:9 says that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
Pray this out loud:
“God, I confess that Jesus is Lord of all, and I believe in my heart that You raised Him from the dead. Thank You that I am now saved!”
WAIT A SEC!
IT IS THAT EASY?
Yes, indeed it is. You are now a Christian. Well, what does that
Ephesians 5:8 says this of you after you prayed that prayer: “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord.”
2 Peter 1:4 says that you have partaken of God’s divine nature.
Romans 8:16 and 1 John 3:2 say that you are now God’s very child!
Before you were the child of the devil (John 8:44) but not any more!
Now get 2 Corinthians 5:17’s scoop on you... “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
Meditation: God reveal to me all that I am the moment that I got saved. As real as when I was born, this new birth is no less real. God I love being in Your Family.
Luke 6:40 The disciple is not above his master: but every one that is perfect shall be as his master.
The New Living Translation says the student who is fully trained will become like the teacher.
That is great news! One of the very first things to learn about ministering like the Master is that IT IS POSSIBLE. It is actually a lot easier than most think. Your greatest challenge will be hearts that react negative to this news. I can hear the ridicule already, "I mean who do you think you are? You're not Jesus! You're not God."
I don't want you to worry about everyone else's reaction to your participation in the work of the Master just yet. How did your heart respond when you read that it's possible? Take some time to understand your heart's response.
Did your heart jump on it with child like faith? That's the key to quick learning and big results for the kingdom of God. A heart that rages against it significantly slows down the learning process.
Meditation: Lord thank you for including me in the Father's business. God since You said it, then I believe it! I'm ready. I repent of any hesitation in embracing scriptures.
